How we handle your info and keep things secure

Last Updated: November 5, 2025

Look, we get it - nobody actually wants to read privacy policies. But here's the thing: we're just a local shop working on cars we love, and we take your privacy seriously. This isn't some corporate template filled with legal mumbo-jumbo. We're gonna be straight with you about what info we collect and why we need it.

What Info We Actually Collect

Basic Contact Stuff

When you book an appointment or reach out to us, we're gonna need your name, phone number, and email. Pretty standard, right? Can't exactly call you about your BMW's timing chain if we don't have your number. We also grab your vehicle info - make, model, year, VIN - because working on a 2018 Audi A4 is way different than a 2015 Mercedes E-Class.

Service History

We keep records of what we've done to your car. Every oil change, every diagnostic scan, all the parts we've replaced. It's not Big Brother stuff - it's just good practice. When your Porsche comes back six months later, we can see what we did last time and catch patterns before they become expensive problems.

Payment Details

Obviously we need to process payments. We use secure payment processors and don't actually store your full credit card numbers on our systems. That's way above our pay grade, and we're cool with letting the pros handle that part.

Website Analytics

Like most sites, we use cookies and analytics to see how people use our website. Which pages get the most hits, where folks are clicking, that sort of thing. It helps us make the site better. We're not tracking your every move across the internet - we're just trying to figure out if our services page is actually helpful or needs work.

What We Do With Your Info

  • Schedule and confirm your appointments - Can't fix your car if you're not here
  • Send service reminders - Those European cars need regular maintenance, and we'll give you a heads up when it's time
  • Process payments - Gotta keep the lights on somehow
  • Maintain service records - Helps us (and you) track what's been done to your vehicle
  • Improve our services - Feedback helps us get better at what we do
  • Communicate about recalls or important updates - If there's a safety issue with your model, you'll wanna know

We're not selling your info to anyone. We're not bombarding you with spam. We're just running a shop and trying to take care of our customers' cars.

Who Else Sees Your Info

We don't go around sharing your personal details for fun. But there are a few situations where we might need to pass along some info:

  • Parts suppliers: Sometimes we need to share vehicle details with our suppliers to order the right parts. They need your VIN to make sure we're getting the exact component for your specific model.
  • Service providers: Our payment processor, email service, that kind of thing. They're bound by their own privacy policies and we've vetted them.
  • Legal requirements: If the law says we gotta hand something over, well, we gotta. But that's pretty rare and we're not gonna do it unless we absolutely have to.
  • With your permission: If you ask us to coordinate with your warranty company or insurance, we'll share what's needed. But only if you tell us it's cool.

Keeping Your Data Safe

We take security seriously, even if we're just a neighborhood shop. Our computer systems are password-protected, we use encryption where it makes sense, and we're careful about who has access to customer records. Physical files are locked up when we're not using them.

Is it Fort Knox? Nah. But we've got solid protections in place. If there's ever a breach (knock on wood), we'll let you know right away and tell you what happened and what we're doing about it.

Your Rights & Choices

This is your info, not ours. Here's what you can do:

Access Your Info

Wanna see what we've got on file? Just ask. We'll show you.

Correct Mistakes

If something's wrong in your records, let us know and we'll fix it.

Delete Your Data

You can request deletion, though we might need to keep some stuff for legal or business reasons.

Opt Out

Don't want reminder emails? No problem. Just tell us and we'll stop.

Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses cookies - not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These are little files that help the site work better and remember stuff like your preferences. Most browsers let you control cookies if you're not into them. Just know that blocking all cookies might make parts of the site wonky.

We're using basic analytics to understand traffic patterns. We're not building detailed profiles or following you around the web. That's just not our scene.

Privacy for Kids

Our services aren't aimed at anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect info from kids. If you're a parent and think your kid's info ended up in our system somehow, get in touch and we'll delete it ASAP.

Changes to This Policy

Things change. Laws get updated, we might add new services, whatever. If we need to update this privacy policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. For major changes, we'll probably send an email or put up a notice on the site.

Common Questions

Nope, not unless you specifically ask us to. We're not in the business of passing customer info around. The only time we'd share anything is if you need a specialist service we don't offer and you ask us to coordinate with another shop.

We keep service records for as long as you're a customer, plus a few years after for warranty and legal reasons. It's actually helpful - if you come back after a long break, we'll still have your vehicle's history on file. Makes diagnostics way easier.

Absolutely. Just shoot us an email or give us a call. We'll put together everything we've got - contact info, service history, payment records, all of it. Might take us a few days to compile everything, but we'll get it to you.

First off, we've got good security in place to prevent that. But if something did happen, we'd notify you right away - within 72 hours at most. We'd tell you exactly what got compromised, what we're doing about it, and what steps you should take. We'd also report it to the proper authorities as required by Canadian law.

Hard no. We're not selling, renting, or giving away your email or any other info to marketers or anyone else. The only emails you'll get from us are appointment confirmations, service reminders, and the occasional update about the shop. That's it.

Yeah, we use industry-standard payment processors that encrypt your card info. We don't store your full credit card numbers on our systems - that's way too much liability and we don't need to. The payment companies handle all that secure stuff, which is how it should be.
